Sidewalk chalk book trailer

Messy Monkeys book trailer

Book reviews
A winsome, colorful picture book with sparse text that mostly describes sounds and actions, this will be embraced by those just learning to read. The illustrations show a lot of chalk art against feathery backdrops, and there is something new to notice with each rereading: a shadow here, s splash of color in the rain there.
Thought-provoking, colorful, and awash with playful sounds.
A timid child slowly joins in the fun as a group of kids begin drawing on the sidewalk.
The narrative is told mostly in kid-friendly, onomatopoeic language, with only a few words on each page; readers must look closely at the art to see the real story emerge .... the themes of collaborative drawing, inclusivity, and the impermanence of art are all possibilities for readers to explore more deeply. The neighborhood kids are diverse.
